GATHERING OF SERBIAN SAINTS - CELEBRATION DAY OF PALILULA MUNICIPALITY

Palilula Municipality from Nis, in which territory is one of the oldest parts of the city, that mostly kept the old city spirit, celebrated its Saints Day - "Gathering of Serbian Saints" on Sunday, 13 September, at the premises of NKC. After the traditional ceremony of "cutting the Slava -Saints Day cake", all present honorable citizens and guest were addressed by the Mayor of Boban Džunić. This yeas host of Saints Day was Milos Stojiljkovic, member of the Municipal Council. This is an important day for the Municipality of Palilula has been celebrated since 2005, with an icon of Serbian Saints by the artist Ana Borovec painter-iconographer.

"Gathering of Serbian saints" - the Saints Day of Palilula, has a special meaning. It is our gratitude to ancestors, pledge and testimony of our faith to descendants. Within this kind of historical framework, it is given birth to a unique church-national form of the Serbian people - Svetosavlje, Svetosavlje is liturgical and evangelical life, the inner movement of Serbian national identity throughout history ... It adds up and it draws life the ruler ideas of Nemanjic family and builds " earthly kingdom lit up with the Kingdom of God. " Gathering of Serbian Saints is our brightest figure, but also a mirror, the inspiration and admonition, measure of our Christian identity and being, of our authentic way of life and existence.
